Criteria for Eligibility of Residents

  1. US Citizen or Permanent Resident (visas not sponsored) from a medical school that is not disapproved according to the California and Texas lists since North Carolina does not have a list of disapproved medical schools (non-LCME schools).
  2. Medical school graduation date no greater that two years prior to date of internship beginning (exceptions made if recent supervised clinical experience in US)
  3. Passing scores of COMLEX/USMLE 1 and 2 with a total of two or less attempts for both exams combined.
  4. Applications accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to apply via the Internet (http://www.aamc.org/audienceeras.htm).
  5. Must participate in NRMP/NMS

Nova Southeastern University Masters in Public Health Program

Through our affiliation with the Consortium for Excellence in Medical Education, Osteopathic Residents are offered the opportunity to pursue a  Masters in Public Health degree from Nova Southeastern University at no cost to them. These online courses allow residents the flexibility to pursue the degree throughout the course of the residency.

ERAS®—the Electronic Residency Application Service—is a service that transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Dean's Letters/ MSPE, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from applicants and medical schools to residency programs using the Internet.
